Chanute, KS (March 15, 2022) – The Panthers had everything working for them on their Tuesday doubleheader against NEO. Stout pitching, clean defense, and an alive offense have them winning two games over NEO, 10-2 and 5-1, respectively.
 
At the Plate:
Panthers got on the scoreboard right away by scoring one run in the first inning of the first game and going on to score in five of the six innings at the plate. They continued to produce all day at the dish. In both games combined, there was only one inning without a Panther reaching base and only two without reaching scoring position.
 
The Panthers racked up a total of 21 hits and 15 runs on the day. Riley Kennedy led the charge with five hits on the day while Cassidy Paulson had 3 hits and two homers. Joining Paulson with a trot around the bases, Ayche Marhoud hits her first home run of the season in game two. A total of six panthers had multiple hits on the day.
 
In the Circle:
Olivia Cummings got the start for game one. Cummings went all 7 innings and came in clutch to shut down the NEO offense allowing only four hits and two runs with four strikeouts.
 
Lauren Fuller toes the rubber in game two. Throwing her first collegiate full game on the mound, Fuller surrendered only one run with six hits and zero walks to aid with giving her team another win.
 
Up Next:
Gaining all the momentum in their favor, the Panthers have their inaugural conference game against Highland Community College on Thursday, March 17th.
