MIAMI, Okla. –
Jill Starling recorded her second triple double of the season to help Neosho (13-13, 3-5) snap a season long three match losing streak and pick up a win on the road against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (12-12) 21-25, 25-19, 24-26, 28-26, 15-13 Monday night.
Â
The Panthers entered the match having dropped three straight matches following a 3-0 win against NEO at the Panther Invite earlier in the month. The two teams traded sets with the Norse winning the first and third while the Panthers grabbed the second and fourth to set up the decisive fifth set.
Â
After the third and fourth sets went past 25 points, it was only fitting that the fifth set was tight, but Neosho was able to edge past NEO to pull back to .500 for the season.
Â
Starling's second triple double of the season consisted of team highs for kills (17) and digs (21) and a career best 17 assists. Freshman
Mackenzie Brown continues to blossom as the season progresses, finishing with a career high 17 digs and 6 service aces and just missed a double double with 9 kills.
Â
Neosho will be back in action Friday (Oct. 17) when they travel to Hesston College (16-5, 4-2) for one of the final Region VI matches of the year.Â
