Neosho, MO - #4 Neosho County closed out their regular season in style with a 4-1 road victory over Crowder College on Thursday afternoon. The win capped off an unbeaten regular season for the Panthers, who showed resilience and quality to overturn a slow start.
The first half saw Neosho struggle to find their usual rhythm, with Crowder pressing well and taking advantage of a defensive miscue in the 35th minute to open the scoring. Despite creating several chances before the break, the Panthers couldn't find an equalizer and went into halftime trailing 1-0.
After the restart, Neosho looked like a different side. The energy, tempo, and precision returned, and it didn't take long for the momentum to shift. Bailey Mapletoft brought the Panthers level in the 55th minute after a clever build-up down the left. Just seven minutes later, Mapletoft struck again—finishing clinically to put Neosho ahead 2-1.
With control of the game firmly established, Zal ElHannach added a third goal midway through the half, finishing off a flowing team move. Danny Carroll then rounded off the performance with a well-taken goal late in the match to make it 4-1.
It was another statement display from a Neosho side that has shown consistency and determination all season long. The Panthers now head into the postseason unbeaten, awaiting Saturday's announcement to learn who they'll host in the first round of the Region 6/9 Tournament.
