Panthers Finish Season with a Four Win Weekend as they Head to Post-Season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Concordia, KS (May 7, 2022) and Chanute, KS (May 8, 2022) – Neosho Softball has a big final weekend with four games to finish out their regular season schedule. On Saturday, the Panthers swept Cloud Community College on the road and swept Hesston College at home on Sunday for Sophomore Day. The Panthers finish the season 34-14 as they head into post-season Regionals this coming weekend.
 
Saturday, May 7, 2022 – (Game 1: NCCC 5, CCC 0) (Game 2: NCCC 13, CCC 1)
The Panthers take two wins from the Thunderbirds on Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Panthers got on the board early after taking advantage of a defensive error and scored again big on a Hannah Duin home run in the fifth innings. Olivia Cummings threw a shutout performance allowing only two hits with 12 strikeouts.
 
Game two fell much easier for the Panthers. In run-rule fashion, with a score of 13-1, Cassidy Paulson gets another win throwing five innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out six. At the plate, Neosho had a total of 11 hits with four Panthers having multiple-hit performances. The Panthers finished the day perfect on defense, not committing a single error in both games combined.
 
Sunday, May 8, 2022 – (Game 1: NCCC 8, HC 2) (Game 2: NCCC 9, HC 1)
Sunday afternoon, the Panthers celebrate their last home games of the 2022 season with two wins against Hesston College on Sophomore day.
 
In the circle, Olivia Cummings and Cassidy Paulson get the wins for games one and two respectively. Combined they had seven hits, five walks, three runs, and 14 strikeouts.
 
In game one, the Panthers totaled nine hits with Lauren Fuller, Espy Daniels, and Ayche Marchoud each having multiple hits; Fuller and Daniels each with a home run, and Fuller leading with five runs batted in while Daniels led with three hits. In-game two, Neosho scored in all but one inning and had nine hits in total, with three panthers getting multiple hits with Fuller leading the game with three.
 
Up Next:
The Panthers will Travel to Topeka, KS this weekend, May 13-15, to play in post-season Regionals.
