Box Score 4 Chanute, KS (April 30, 2022, and May 1, 2022) – Neosho Softball walks away from the weekend with four wins against Coffeyville and two more against KCKCC. To solidify a post-season spot, the Panthers take two from Coffeyville in a 14-2 run-rule and a 9-2 win. Standout pitching leads to two more wins with close scores of 2-0 and 2-1.
Saturday (NCCC 14- CCC 4 and NCCC 9- CCC 2) –
Game 1: With 12 hits in the game the Panther's offense surpassed that of Coffeyville's. The Panthers got on the board right away in the first inning. Going back and forth for the first two innings, Neosho had a big third inning scoring eight. In the inning, hits by
Devynn Raile,
Karley Crowe, and
Espy Daniels give an early three runs before
Hannah Duin hits a grand slam to center field. Three more runs in the fourth complete the run-rule win, and the first of the day.
Game 2: Once again the offense of the Panthers led them to success followed by the errorless defense. The Panthers had 11 hits in the game with Crowe, Duin, and Daniels each with multiple hits. Duin and Crowe had two apiece, including a triple, while Daniels led the team going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a homer.
Sunday (NCCC 2- KCKCC 0 and NCCC 2- KCKCC 1) –
Sunday's games against KCK were all about pitching.
Olivia Cummings (Game 1) and
Cassidy Paulson (Game 2) each threw lights out efforts to earn the wins. Cummings had a shutout performance allowing only three hits and two walks while striking out eight including getting the first nine out herself and going four hitless innings.
Paulson threw the full seven, allowing only four hits, one walk, one run, and four strikeouts while completing six scoreless innings.
At the Plate, game one started with Daniels reaching on an error from the shortstop which advanced her to second base.

Katie Boline hits a solo shot in the second inning to give the 2-0 lead and eventual final.
In-game two, similarly, the Panthers reach base on an error and come around to score on a single by Duin. A KCK home run ties it up 1-1 in the fourth. Regaining the lead in the next inning,
Lydia Brown has a lead-off single to center field. A sacrifice bunt by Raile moves brown into scoring position allowing her to score on Paulson's hit to left field.
The Panthers are back in action Thursday, May 5
th where they will celebrate the Sophomores versus Hesston. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
