Box Score 2 Hesston, KS (April 7, 2022) – Neosho Softball adds two more wins to their season on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers take game one 16-12 with two big comeback innings to keep the late lead and seal the day with a 12- 0 run rule for game two.
Game One (NCCC 16, HC 12):
Despite starting the game with an
Espy Daniels leadoff homerun, the panthers found themselves working from behind for most of the game. Not giving up, the Panthers found ways to stay alive scoring again in the third through sixth innings, including a big six runs in the fifth to close the gap to one run and seven runs in the sixth to take the lead 16-12.
Olivia Cummings started on the rubber for the Panthers and went two innings before
Lauren Fuller came in relief to finish out the remaining five innings of the game. Fuller contributed big at the plate as well, adding a 2-run homer in the fifth to her performance in the circle.
At the plate, eight of 10 Panthers tallied a hit with seven having multiple hits, totaling 15 hits in the game for Neosho.
Riley Kennedy led the Panthers with 4 RBIs in game one.
Game Two (NCCC 12, HC 0):
The Panthers jumped out ahead in game two scoring three runs in the top of the first and four in the second. With Hesston unable to show signs of a comeback, Neosho added five more runs to their tally in the fourth.
The Panthers had 11 hits in the game with
Katie Boline,
Makenzie Haslett,
Devynn Raile, and
Ayche Marchoud leading the Panthers all with two RBIs apiece.
Cassidy Paulson had a big game going 3-for-3 at the plate including an RBI single and two leadoff hits. Paulson started game two on the mound, surrendering zero runs over five innings, striking out five, and walking zero.
