Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Fort Scott, KS (April 27, 2022) – Panthers softball come away with two more conference wins and the sweep on the day against Fort Scott Wednesday afternoon. Neosho takes game one in regulation winning 4-1 and game two after going into extra innings to complete the day.

Game 1 – Neosho County 4, Fort Scott 1

Cummings went seven innings, allowing only two hits and one run, striking out 11.

How it Happened:
The Panthers made it on the scoreboard first in the fifth inning. A leadoff double by Ayche Marchoud, a Karley Crowe sacrifice bunt, and RBI double by Espy Daniels, give them the lead.

Scoring again in the sixth, Neosho gets on with an error, and back-to-back-to-back RBI at-bats by Hannah Duin, Boline, and Cummings extend Neosho's lead to 4-0.

Fort Scott made a single run effort in the bottom of the sixth but proved to not be enough for a comeback. Cummings strikes out the side in the bottom of seven for the win.

Game 2 – Neosho County 2, Fort Scott 1
Going eight innings, the Panthers walked away with the sweep after scoring when needed in extra innings, a perfect defense, and a near shutout pitching performance. Lauren Fuller led at the plate going 2-for-4. Cassidy Paulson (8-6) went all eight innings, giving up only one run on three hits, walking one, and striking out nine.

How it Happened:
In a similar fashion to game one, the Panther got on the board first in the third inning, holding the 1-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh inning. Daniels gets on by error before making her way to third base and scoring on a squeeze bunt by Riley Kennedy.

A Fort Scott solo home run in the seventh inning tied the score 1-1, the game into extra innings.

With two outs, Lydia Brown singles up the middle putting the go-ahead run on base for the panthers. Raile forces an error allowing Brown to come around and score. Now leading 2-1, Paulson gets the next three out at the plate, ending with a strikeout for the day's second win.
