The Panthers Take the Split with Labette

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Parsons, KS (April 21, 2022) – Panthers split the day in Parsons, KS with Labette Community College. Neosho takes game one after commanding the close one-run game and drops game two after Labette takes the early lead leaving the Panthers with a shutout at the plate. The Panthers are now 23- 14 on the season and 14- 8 in the conference.
 
Game One (NCCC 2, LCC 1):
The Panthers pulled out the close win on the day's first game. In what ended up being a pitching duel, Neosho took the lead 2-1 in the third inning off of a Cassidy Paulson hit to the left side, scoring two. With a touch match at the plate for the Panthers, those runs were all they needed for the win with their pitching staff and strong defense to back them up.
 
In the Circle, Olivia Cummings went the full seven innings only allowing one run on four hits and striking out eight. With the close came and tough innings, Cummings worked her way out to end on the victorious side.
 
Game Two (NCCC 0, LCC 5):
Neosho fell behind early to Labette in the first inning after scoring two, the Panthers couldn't make the comeback to get the win. Adding two more in the second and one in the fourth, the Panthers tried to show short signs of life to get on the board and cut the lead.
 
Cassidy Paulson was the starting pitcher for the Panthers lasting one and one-third innings before Ellie Kuntz came in to finish the game. Kuntz went four and two-thirds innings in relief allowing one run on two hits.
 
Up Next:
The Panthers are back in action on April 28th at Fort Scott at 2 pm and 4 pm.
