Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Chanute, KS (March 26, 2022) – Panthers softball get their first conference wins of the 2022 season against Independence CC. Neosho swept the day with a five-inning run-rule for the first game while winning the second of the doubleheader with a walk-off in extra innings.

Game 1 – (NCCC 17, INDY 4)
Lauren Fuller started the game for the Panthers in the circle. After giving up a home run in the top of the first, the solo shot held nothing against the Panthers' offense that answered back right away and then some. Fuller went on to throw three and a third innings, allowing four runs on five hits while walking zero.

Neosho softball got out to a hot start scoring eight runs in the first inning. They went on to score in every inning at the plate. Every Panther at the plate today had at least one hit with six having multiple hits, with a total of 17 hits. Espy Daniels and Katie Boline lead the team each having three hits.

Game 2 – (NCCC 5, INDY 4)
In vary opposing fashion to game one, the Panthers won their second game of the day with a 5-4 walk-off victory. Once again the bats for the Panthers were on fire as they tallied 10 hits as a team with Espy Daniels and Hannah Duin leading with three hits each.

Neosho held the lead for most of the game when Independence scored three runs in the seventh inning to go ahead 4-2 leaving the Panthers with one more at-bat to comeback. Cassidy Paulson and Ayche Marchoud each had an RBI accounted for in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4 and put the game into extra innings.

Ellie Kuntz got the start for the Panthers throwing six innings, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out four. Olivia Cummings came in relief in the seventh, allowing one run, striking out two, and shutting down Independence's offense in extra innings.

Going into the eighth, Devynn Raile had a lead-off walk to start the inning and put the much-needed winning run on base for Neosho. Stealing second base, Raile moved into scoring position to allow for Daniels to hit a full-count line drive to left, scoring one and giving the Panthers their second conference win and the sweep on the day.
