A Pair of Shutout Wins for the Panthers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Neosho, MO (February 27, 2022) – This Sunday, Neosho softball finished the day with two 2-0 wins over NEO A&M College and Fort Scott Community College. With pitching strong across the board in both games, the Panthers came out the victorious team with stout pitching, clean defense, and timely hits.
 
IN THE CIRCLE:
Olivia Cummings started the game against NEO and went the full 7 innings only allowing two hits and two walks, striking out three. With only 5 baserunners on the day, Cummings shut down the NEO offense, including a strikeout looking to end the game and get her second win on the year.
 
In game two, Cassidy Paulson took the mound and much like her teammate in the previous game, was able to collect her second win this year with her performance against Fort Scott CC. Paulson threw 7 innings, allowing seven hits and seven strikeouts. With clutch defense behind
her, Paulson held on to allow no runs giving the Panthers their second shutout of the day.
 
 
AT THE PLATE:
Starting slowly on the day, the Panthers were able to string together a pair of runs in the 7th and the 4th innings, against NEO and Fort Scott accordingly. Having four hits and 3 of the 4 RBIs on the day,  Katie Boline led the team at the plate and came in clutch to get the runs needed across. Journee Zito added the second run of the Fort Scott game with a sacrifice fly out to the left fielder. Ayche Marchoud, Espy Daniels, and Lydia Brown also had multiple hits on the day.
 
 
UP NEXT:
The Panthers return to action Tuesday, March 1, when they travel to take on Crowder College in doubleheader action. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
