Panthers hit the road to face Barton in their KJCCC game.

How it happened;

Neosho faced a tough Barton opponent after facing their first defeat of the season Wednesday to Coffeyville. The Panthers started strong forcing Barton into some early mistakes that let to them turning the ball over.

Leonardo Menzen took a shot in the 23rd minute that was saved by the Barton goalkeeper. This was then returned when Barton broke through but the panthers goalkeeper Matteo Serra came out on top with a smart save with his feet.

The first half was a cagey affair and the panthers came close again when Joao Kawasaki hit the post directly from a corner. The panthers used the 15MPH wind to their advantage pushing to keep the cougars in their own half for much of the first half. The teams came into half time with the scores at 0-0.

Barton came out with much of the same game plan as the panthers, trying to utilize the wind advantage as much as they could. The panthers stood strong defending well until the 75th minute when the Barton Cougars quickly stole the ball back in the panthers half and put the ball past Neosho's goalkeeper Matteo Serra to put the score at 1-0.

The panthers pushed on for the last 15 minutes but failed to put the ball in the back of the goal. This left the game to end 1-0 to Barton.

This puts the Panthers record to 2-2-2 on the season. The panthers will travel to Eastern OK State this Thursday in a non conference match up.
