Neosho County Community College capped off an outstanding 2026 regular season with a convincing 3–0 victory over Southeast Community College, maintaining their unbeaten record and securing another clean sheet in front of the home crowd in Chanute.
The Panthers began the contest on the front foot, applying early pressure and creating opportunities as they looked to establish control of the game. Despite their attacking intent, Neosho struggled to capitalize on several promising chances during the opening stages.
The breakthrough eventually arrived through Bailey Mapletoft, who found the net to give the Panthers a 1–0 advantage in the first half.
However, Southeast gradually grew into the contest, creating opportunities of their own and challenging Neosho's defensive organization. The game became increasingly stretched, with both sides enjoying periods of success as momentum shifted back and forth throughout the opening 45 minutes.
Neosho entered halftime with a narrow advantage, using the interval to regroup, reassess and address the areas that had prevented them from establishing greater control of the contest.
As has so often been the case throughout the campaign, the Panthers emerged for the second half with renewed purpose and intensity, determined to build on their advantage and produce a more complete performance.
That response was rewarded when Victor Mlongeca capitalized on a breakaway opportunity, finishing to double Neosho's lead and provide some much-needed breathing room.
With the Panthers beginning to take greater command of the contest, Mlongeca produced a moment of individual brilliance to put the result beyond doubt. The forward scored a spectacular bicycle kick to secure his second goal of the afternoon, extending Neosho's advantage to 3–0 and providing a fitting highlight to conclude the regular season.
Neosho maintained their defensive discipline throughout the closing stages, limiting Southeast's opportunities and preserving another clean sheet to complete a professional team performance.
The victory marked a significant milestone for the Panthers, who concluded the regular season undefeated. Their ability to respond to challenging moments, make effective halftime adjustments and consistently deliver strong second-half performances has become a defining characteristic of their success throughout the campaign.
Three goals, a clean sheet and another victory provided a fitting conclusion to an exceptional regular season, as the Panthers now turn their attention to postseason competition.
Final: Neosho 3–0 Southeast CC
