The Neosho County Panther baseball team kicked off their sub-regional play this afternoon against the #2 seed from the west, the Seward County Saints. Panther baseball combined a good offensive performance with a great outing from starting pitcher
Taylor Parrett, to take home a 10-7 win over the Saints.The win improves the Panthers overall record to 26-25, and more importantly, it puts them in the winners bracket of the four team tournament.
Taylor Parrett took the mound this afternoon to square off with the Saints of Seward County. The North Dakotan native tossed 6.0 innings, scattered 4 hits, and gave up 1 earned run.
Jordan Linderer,
Nathan Hungate, and
Brett Wiemers all tossed one inning out of the pen to solidify the 10-7 win.
Offensively, the Panthers scored 10 runs on 14 hits in the ball game.
Daegan Brady,
Andrew Brautman,
Mason Lundgrin,
Ivan Witt, and
Jordon Helm all contributed to the win with multi-hit games. Brautman and Helm both notched 3 RBI in two out situation to come up clutch for the Panthers offense,
Khalil Thrasher also left the yard to plate some big runs for the Panthers early in the game.
