Neosho County Community College baseball squared off with Kansas City Kansas Community College in the winner's bracket final this afternoon, at Brent Gould Field, in Liberal, KS. Unfortunately, for the Panthers they were on the wrong side of a 12-11 loss.
The Panthers sent freshman right hander,
Jack Ebright to the mound to start against the Blue Devils. Ebright cruised through 5 innings, giving up 1 hit, and no runs. The Blue Devils would get the better of the Wichita native in the sixth inning, as they would score 7 runs on 5 hits.
Drake LaRoche,
Adam Birch,
Tyler McQuinn, and
Nathan Hungate all threw out of the pen in the loss.
Offensively, the Panthers plated 11 runs, on 11 hits and put up six runs in the 2nd inning to knock out KCK's starter.
Mason Lundgrin,
Drew Miller, and
Brett Wiemers all logged multi-hit games for the Panthers.
What's Next:
The Panthers will look to have short term memory as they will bounce back and play the Saints of Seward County in the loser's bracket final. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
