Neosho County baseball took a chance and played their originally scheduled non-conference games against the Wildcats of Baker University- JV, on a cold and snowy day in Chanute, KS. The gamble paid off, as the sun popped out and both teams got a decent day to play two games on. The decision to play also panned out, as the Panthers came away with two wins on the day. The Panthers took game one 8-2 and game two 11-1. The wins improve the Panthers overall record to 17-21 on the year.Â
Game 1:
The Panthers sent freshman
Jake Beckmann to the hill for the start. Beckmann tossed 5.0 innings, giving up 2 runs, on six hits.
Tysaac Noland also toed the rubber, making his collegiate debut on the mound. He did not disappoint as he tossed 2 scoreless innings and struck out two Wildcat hitters. Offensively, the Panthers plated 8 runners on 11 hits in the contest. Neosho County flexed their muscles in this one, as 6 of their 11 hits were extra base hits. Beckmann picked up the win on the mound, giving him his first win as a Panther.Â
Game 2:

Jordan Linderer got the start for the Panthers in game two. Linderer tossed 4.0 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits.
Colton Crockett also got an inning out of the bullpen this afternoon. The freshman right-handed pitcher logged 1 scoreless inning. The Panthers offense, picked up right where they left off in game #1, scoring 11 runs on 14 hits.
Drew Miller led the charge with a 2B, HR and 3 RBI.

Mason Lundgrin,
Mack Clark, and
Luke Burk all notched multi-hit games in the win. Linderer picked up the win on the mound to improve his record to 2-1 on the season.Â
