Panthers Fall to the Grizzlies in Non-Conference Play

The Panthers visited the Butler Community College Grizzlies, at McDonald Stadium, in El Dorado, KS this afternoon. The contest was a single 9-inning game that was a non-conference matchup. The game was a slugfest, with both offenses showing off their muscles. In total, 35 runs were scored in the ball game. Unfortunately, for the Panthers they were on the wrong side of the scoreboard as they fell to the Grizzlies 21-14.

The Panthers pitching staff had some trouble with command this afternoon, as they walked 15 and hit one batter. Brance Ware got the start for Neosho County tossing 1.2 innings and giving up 7 earned runs. Adam Birch came into the game out of the bullpen and tossed 2.1 innings and gave up 4 earned runs. Jordon Linderer, Brady Pacha, Colton Crockett, Colten Nelson, and Nathan Hungate also made appearances on the mound. Brady Pacha took the loss for the Panthers in this contest. Offensively, the Panthers scored 14 runs on 16 hits. They did a great job cashing in runners in scoring position with less than 2 outs in this contest. Panther hitters also flexed their muscles and tallied 9 extra base hits in the game.

Players of the Game:
  • Mason Lundgrin notched 4 hits (1 2B, 1HR)  in the contest and an impressive 6 RBI.
