Game Recap: Baseball |

Panthers Swept by Fort Scott on Road in KJCCC Play

The Panthers hit the road to head to Fort Scott, KS this afternoon, to finish up their 4 game series with the Greyhounds. Mother Nature blessed the team with some beautiful weather, at LaRoche Baseball Complex, in Fort Scott, KS. However, the beautiful weather would not bode well for the Panthers. Neosho County found themselves on the wrong side of two baseball games, as they lost game one 11-7 and game two 18-13. The losses send the Panthers overall record to 14-17 and 7-13 in KJCCC play.

Game 1:
Panther right-handed pitcher Owen Chaffin took the mound for Neosho in game number one. He would toss 4.0 innings and give up 8 earned runs in the contest, and ultimately take the loss. Offensively, the Panthers mustered 7 runs on 12 hits. Daegan Brady, Andrew Brautman, Khalil Thrasher, and Mason Lundgrin contributed with two hits a piece. Andrew Hansen and Brett Wiemers would each toss an inning out of the pen in the loss. The Panthers would keep the game close, however, they would ultimately fall 11-7 to the Greyhounds.

Game 2:
Neosho County sent Drake LaRoche to the hill for game number two of the doubleheader. The Fort Scott native had some trouble commanding the baseball this afternoon and tossed 3.1 innings 8 earned runs on 8 hits, taking the loss for the Panthers. Jordan Linderer, Andrew Hansen, Colten Nelson, and Tyler McQuinn would all throw out of the pen in the ball game. Offensively, the Panthers scored 13 runs on 14 hits. The Panthers were led by Daegan Brady (4 hits and 3 RBI), Mason Lundgrin (3 hits, 4 RBI), and Luke Burk (3 hits, 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI). Game two provided a lot of offense for both teams, however, the Greyhounds found more ways to score. Neosho County would crawl back into the game, however, Fort Scott would steal back the momentum and score more of their own. This back and forth affair that showcased 8 home runs for both teams, would end up being a 18-13 win for the Greyhounds of Fort Scott CC.

What's Next:
