Panthers Fall to Crowder in Non-Conference Game

The Panthers traveled to Neosho, MO this afternoon to take on the #4 Crowder College Roughriders in a non-conference matchup. Neosho County fell to the Roughriders 15-6 in the nine inning contest. The loss takes the Panthers overall record to 10-6 on the year.

The Panthers scripted out the pitching rotation this afternoon and sent 10 pitchers to the mound to get through 9 innings. Tyler McQuinn got the start and threw up a zero in his inning of work. Jake Beckmann,. Will Eldridge, Brance Ware, Andrew Hansen, Adam Birch, Nathan Hungate, Colton Crockett, Jordan Linderer, and Brady Pacha all got an appearance in this contest on the mound.

Offensively, the Panthers scored 6 runs on 13 hits. Mason Lundgrin was the standout offensively as he went 4-4 with 3 RBI. Other offensive producers were: Daegan Brady who went 2-3 with an RBI, Drew Miller who went 2-3 with a HR, and Khalil Thrasher who went 2-4 in the ball game. Austin Oldham recorded his first collegiate at bat and hit, as he doubled in the top of the 9th inning.

Steve Murry on the loss, "Crowder is a very good ball club. There is a reason that they are #6 in the rankings. We spotted them some runs with free passes and errors, and a team like that will beat you when you do that. We got ourselves in positions to score runs, however, we still did not take full advantage of our at bats with those runners in scoring position. We need to clean some things up and play a little better for our series with Cowley this weekend".

The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday, March 25th, when the Cowley College Tigers come into town for KJCCC play at 1 & 3 PM.
