Chanute, KS – Neosho upset #10 Highland in a five set match (13-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 17-15) after being down 0-2 on Monday night. Highland took control early in the first set and held onto the lead to take set one 25-13. Panthers put together some rallies and came out stronger in set two, but the Scotties again took control and won set two 25-22. Neosho came out on top early in set three and take a 14-6 lead. After some blocking adjustments the Panthers held onto the lead in set three and took the set 25-19. Set four would be a back and fourth set to the end. Both teams played great defense which led to several long rallies in set four.The Panthers closed out the set with a score of 25-23. Set five started out with Neosho taking an 8-3 lead before they let the Scotties creep back in and tie it up at 8. After the Scotties tied it up at 8 they continued their run and took an 11-9 lead. The Panthers are now 10-6 overall and 9-5 in conference. The next matchup will be at home against Cloud County on Thursday March, 16 at 6:30 pm.
