Chanute, KS – Neosho gets back in the win column with a sweep at home against Labette Community College on Friday. The Panthers would take the three set match with scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-18. In set one, Neosho would start with the lead and never relinquished it throughout the set. In set two, the score would stay close with both Neosho and Labette exchanging the lead, but in the end the Panthers went on a four point run to finish the set 25-21. The third set the Panthers had control of the whole set. Neosho maintained their multiple point lead, and came away with the third set win.
Offensively, the panthers were led by freshman middle
McKinley Pruitt and freshman outside
Riley Kallevig who both tallied 9 kills for the match. On the defensive end, freshman libero
Brooklyn Strobel led with 19 digs and freshman defensive specialist
Kinley Poynter tallied 15 digs.
Neosho is now 9-6 overall and 8-5 in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference. The Panthers will host Highland Community College on March 15th at 6:30 pm.
