Kansas City, KS - The Panthers finished out a big conference week with a win over the 18
th ranked Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas Community College. Neosho would take the match against KCK 3-1 with scores of 24-26, 25-16, 25-14, 25-14. Set one was a fight to the finish with the Panthers leading by a point or two most of the set until KCK tied up at 24-24 before the Blue Devils were able to score two in a row to finish set one. The next three sets the Panthers were able to come out and be the aggressors in all three sets, starting out with the lead and keeping it in all three sets. The Panthers continued to serve aggressive and stay in system to go on their winning streak. This week Neosho took down three ranked teams, #11 Fort Scott, #15 Cowley College, and #18 Kansas City Kansas.
Offensively, Neosho was led by freshman outside
Riley Kallevig recording 13 kills on the match. Riley was followed by freshman right side
Hannah Brisco who recorded 12 kills. Defensively, freshman libero
Brooklyn Strobel recorded a season high of 27 digs in the match. Freshman middle
Samantha Johnson led the team in blocks with 1 solo and 4 assists.
The Panther's win over KCK moves them to 4-1 on the season and they remain undefeated in conference play, with a record of 4-0. The scheduled match against Coffeyville on Monday February 8
th has been postponed due to weather. The next scheduled match is against Allen Community College on Thursday February 10
th at Allen Community College.
