Box Score Kansas City, Kansas – The Panthers took on #18 the Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas Community College in the first round of the district tournament Wednesday night. The Panthers would fall to the Blue Devils in a tough fought 5 set match with set scores of 31-29, 20-25, 24-24, 25-12, 15-5. Set one would go point for point early on until the Panthers were able to take a four point lead at 19-15. The Blue Devils went on a four point run to tie it up at 19-19. The Panthers would take a game point lead at 24-23 and would take the set at 31-29. Set two would be tied at 18-18 before the Blue Devils were able to finish with set score at 25-20. Set three would be tied at 22-22, the Blue Devils would take a two point lead at 24-22. The Panthers would go on a three point scoring run to end the set 26-24. Sets four and five would respectively go to the Blue Devils with set scores of 25-12 and 15-5.
The Panthers offense was led by freshman outside
Alyssa Hunter who tallied 14 kills on the match. She was followed by sophomore outside
Hannah Brisco and sophomore right side
Rylee Moseman who both tallied 12 kills on the match. Defensively the Panthers were led by freshman defensive specialists
Riley Kennedy who recorded 23 digs on the match. Following Kennedy was sophomore libero
Brooklyn Strobel who recorded 21 digs.
The Panthers end their season 13-12 overall and 6-4 in KJCCC play.
