Neosho volleyball battled through a competitive four-set match against Seminole State University, coming away with a hard-fought 3-1 victory. The Panthers showed resilience throughout the match, answering every challenge from Seminole State and finishing strong with set scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-16, and 25-20.
The opening set set the tone for the match, as Neosho and Seminole State traded momentum in a back-and-forth battle. The Panthers held their composure when it mattered most, edging Seminole State 26-24 to take an early lead.
Seminole State responded in the second set, taking a 25-21 decision to even the match at one set apiece. Neosho quickly regained control, however, using a strong all-around effort to take the third set 25-16. The Panthers carried that momentum into the fourth, closing out the match with a 25-20 win.
Neosho's offensive attack produced 48 total kills, while the Panthers' defensive effort was highlighted by 92 team digs and six total blocks.
Leading the offensive charge was Hedi Koppany, who recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 11 digs. Elyse Haxton also posted a double-double, finishing with 15 kills and 14 digs, while adding an impressive four service aces.
The Panthers received strong contributions from their setters as well. Tori Thompson led the team with 20 assists, while Georgia Rogers added 16 assists to help keep Neosho's offense in rhythm.
Defensively, Carley Keller anchored the back row with a team-high 27 digs, helping Neosho withstand Seminole State's offensive pressure and extend rallies throughout the match.
With contributions coming from every area of the court, Neosho's balanced attack and determined defensive effort proved to be the difference. The Panthers' ability to respond after dropping the second set and close out the final two sets demonstrated the team's composure and competitive drive.
