Neosho County Baseball Sweeps Ottawa JV

Neosho County baseball played host to Ottawa University's Junior Varsity team this afternoon in non-conference action. The Panthers put together a good performance in both games to take down the Braves. These two wins bring the Panther's overall record to 6-2 and extends the Panther's win streak to five games. 
Game One:
Sophomore starting pitcher Josh Flack toed the rubber for the Panthers in game one. This game would prove to be a family affair on the mound as Flack faced off against his cousin Jackson Flack. Josh Flack would get the last laugh as he went 5.0 innings and scattered four hits while giving up zero runs to pick up his first win of the season. The offense also showed up this afternoon putting together twenty runs on eighteen hits. The second inning would offer some fireworks as Andrew Brautman, Connor Jeffers, and Drew Miller hit back-to-back-to-back home-runs. The Panther would end up winning 20-0 in five innings of play.This victory brought their record to 5-2 on the year.  Andrew Brautman (2) Connor Jeffers (3), Drew Miller (2), Khalil Thrasher (2), Mason Lundgrin (2), Luke Wolgamott (2), Chaseton Wylie (2), Brett Wiemers (2), and Vinny Esparza all notched hits in the victory. 
Game Two: 
Sophomore starting pitcher Cameron Blazek took the mound for the Panthers in game two. He would also give the Panthers a quality start as he threw 5.0 innings, scattered six hits, and gave up two earned runs in route to his first win of the season. The Panther's offense was good yet again as they scored twelve runs on eleven hits. Andrew Brautman (3), Chase Curtis (2), Khalil Thrasher (2), Mason Lungdrin, Austin Arceneaux, Brant Scrivner, and Vinny Esparza all notched hits in the victory. Brett Wiemers logged his first collegiate inning on the mound by throwing a scoreless inning and striking out two Ottawa University Braves.  The Panthers would end up run ruling Ottawa on a Walk-Off home run by Brant Scrivner to score the twelfth run of the game sealing the victory 12-2 in six innings of play. This win brings the Panthers overall record to 6-2 on the year.
