Coming into Wednesday night's contest with the Neosho County Community College Panthers, the Cowley Community College Tigers sported a 73 straight match winning streak at home.
Unfortunately, the No. 5-ranked Tigers made it 74 straight, knocking off Neosho County 3-1 (27-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-17).
A pair of Panthers tallied double-digit kills with sophomore
Jill Starling leading the way with 14. Freshman
Rianne Richard added 10. Freshmen
Riley McGinn and
Jessie Roukema chipped in five apiece. Starling and freshman
Haley Slade each had 16 each.
Defensively, freshman
Taryn Strobel had a team-high 31 digs, while Richard added 20. McGinn led the Panthers with five blocks.
The Panthers (13-7 overall and 2-3 in the KJCCC) will travel to Ottawa to face the Braves at 3 pm.
