The Neosho County men's soccer team had to work hard for their double overtime win over Crowder College on Saturday. The Panthers had a lot of opportunities to put the game away early on against the Roughriders but couldn't make their chances count.
Freshmen
Jack Lambert thought he had opened up the scoring halfway through the first half but his goal was disallowed for a foul. Lambert then had another opportunity to put the Panthers ahead from the penalty spot but the Crowder goalkeeper made a wonderful save to keep the score at 0-0.
Matheus Alves also had a goal disallowed for offside late on in regulation.
The game winner came right at the start of the second overtime period as
Rolando Sidon's through ball found Alves inside the box. Alves dribbled past the last defender and the goalkeeper before calmly slotting the ball into the goal. Panther's goalkeeper,
Ryan Davis earned his second shutout of the season with 7 big saves during the game.
The men's soccer team will be back at home on Tuesday September 15
th to face Wentworth College. The game will kick-off at 1PM.
