Neosho hosted their first conference games of the year today at Hudson Field against the Blue Devils of KCK. Game one would get off to a rocky start for the Panthers giving up two runs in the first inning. Neosho would get one run on the board from a single by
Evan Bourn, followed up by a RBI double by
Ryan Skalnik to make it 2-1. The Blue Devils would go on to score eight runs in the next two innings of play to make the score 10-1 going into the thirdĀ inning. With their backs against the wall the Panthers hit back with a six run fifthĀ inning, led by
Jonah Bride and
Trever Burkdoll. Milner would report to the mound shutting down the Blue Devil offense in the sixth, giving the Panthers a chance to strike once again. Neosho would continue with the bats, getting three more runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixthĀ inning to tie the ball game up. With a scoreless seventhĀ for both teams the game would go on to become a nine inning game. With
Lucas Milner shutting down the Blue Devil offense in the eighth, the game would be tied going into the ninethĀ inning of play. KCK got one run across in the ninth, but quickly followed up with a Panther run in the bottom of the ninthĀ to keep the game tied up. In the eleventhĀ inning the Panthers would overcome the nine run deficit to beat the Blue Devils in the bottom of the eleventhĀ with a walk off hit by freshman
Jonah Bride.

The second game got off to a better start for the Panthers with a five run firstĀ inning.
Trent Latta would take the mound for Neosho, shutting down the Blue Devil offense in his first two innings of work. KCK would score one run in the thirdĀ inning making it a 5-1 ball game. The Panthers would score three more runs in the fifthĀ inning of play to make the score 8-1. Neosho would go on to win the second game 8-2 in seven innings. Latta picked up his second win this year throwing a complete game. Ā

Jonah Bride continued to swing a hot bat going six for ten on the day with an incredible seven RBI's, and two homeruns as well. Sophomore
Trever Burkdoll would also have a good day, going five for nine with two doubles at the plate. Ā Ā Ā Ā
