With the season getting back underway after several days off, the Panthers were back in action today at Hudson Field hosting Baker University. Neosho would score first in game one with a triple from
Levi Ashmore, and
Jonah Bride driving him in to score.
Ryan Toliver would hit a triple as well to make it a 2-0 ball game in the bottom of the first. The Panthers would score 2 more in the 3
rd with sophomore
Tyler Sutherland drawing a walk, and Toliver getting his second extra base hit of the game would score him.
Evan Bourn would come up to the plate next and drive Toliver in to make the score 4-0. Neosho would go on to score 2 more runs in the 5
th to give themselves a 6 run lead to close out the ballgame. Sophomore
Nathan Whitcomb held down the mound in game one throwing a complete game shutout and tallied a total of 8 strikeouts in the process.
Game two would start off the same with the Panthers scoring first in the game. Neosho would go on to score in every inning putting up a total of 13 runs. The Panthers would hold the 10 run lead in the 5
th inning to run rule the Wildcats.
Drew Johnson would get his first,collegiate start and go 5 innings allowing 1 earned run.
Freshman
Jonah Bride would supply the power for the Panthers going 4-6 on the day with 2 homeruns and a total of 6 RBI's . Also with a good day at the plate was freshman
Ryan Toliver with 3 hits and 3 RBI's. Neosho will,host KCKCC at home tomorrow for their first conference double header. ,
