The Neosho County Community College volleyball team opened the annual Panther Invite with a straight set sweep of the Labette Community College Lady Cardinals Friday afternoon.
The Panthers never trailed in the first two sets as they defeated the Cardinals 25-16 in both sets.
Although in the third set, Labette showed some life by taking advantage of early Panther errors.
A kill by Labette freshman Sierra Grady gave the Cardinals their largest lead at 10-5 in the third.
That's when Neosho County slowly started to reel in the visitors. The Panthers eventually tied the set at 15 apiece courtesy of a kill by Panther freshman
Rianne Richard.
The score came in the midst of a 8-0 run that put NCCC in front 20-15 en route to a 25-18 win. The Panthers will play at 9am against Ottawa University JV and then again at 3pm against Allen County.
