Para’s Two Goals Lead Panthers Past Larks

Box Score CHANUTE, Kan- Eliany Parra scored a pair of goals, Danielle McClure and Haylie Kinzey each added goals of their own, and the Neosho Panthers cruised past the Hesston Larks 4-1 to open Region 6 play.
 
For the opening 20 minutes of action the Panthers couldn't get a good look at the goal. Danielle McClure and Haylie Kinzey would team up in the 21st minute to finally get the Panthers on the board. It was McClure's first goal of the year and Kinzey's 2nd assist and it gave the Panthers a 1=0 lead.
 
Eliany Parra would shake free for her first goal of the season just over 11 minutes later as she scored on the 31st minute to put the Panthers up 2-0.
 
The score would remain 2-0 until halftime but the Panthers would tack on another goal almost immediately after the break. Parra would come up with a steal and found the back of the net for her second goal of the match less than two minutes into the 2nd half.
 
The Panthers would once again play solid defense for most of the night with the lone blemish coming on a breakaway in the 56th minute as Hesston's Rachel Short-Miller scored her second goal of the season.
 
The Panthers leading scorer would add to her earlier assist with her 3rd goal of the season in the 71st minute to make the score 4-1.
 
Raysha Claibourne improved to 2-0-0 on the year in goal for the Panthers, saving four of the 5 shots she faced. For the match the Panthers out shot the Larks 17-9 and had an advantage of 6-5 on shots on goal.
 
The Panthers are now 2-0-0 on the year and 1-0-0 in Region 6 play. Their next game will be Thursday, September 4 when they host Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at 7pm.
