Balanced Attack Lifts Panthers to Shutout Win Over Hesston

Box Score CHANUTE, Kan. – Four different Panthers scored as the Neosho Panthers bounced back from their opening day loss with a 4-0 win to open Region 6 action. Ryan Davis was solid in goal for the Panthers posting his first career shutout.
 
After being held scoreless in the season opener, the Panther offense was aggressive from the first touch peppering Hesston goal keeper Oliver Wisseman with a flurry of shots. Aaron Crane got the scoring started for the Panthers with his first career goal just three minutes into the match.
 
The offense would continue to  attack and another Panther would score his first career goal. This time it was Alejandro Dominquez finding the back of the net in the 11th minute to put the Panthers up 2-0.
 
The Panthers would have another good look at the goal just two minutes later but Juan Ocampo's shot would hit the right post and the score would remain 2-0 for the rest of the half.
 
The aggressive offensive attack would continue in the second half and returning leading scorer Nelson Landaverde would get his first good look of the night but his shot would sail high. Landaverde would finally get his first score of the season in the 59th minute to extend the Neosho lead to 3-0.
 
In the 68th minute it would be Juan Ocampo that would be the latest Panther to get his first goal of the season when his put back found the back of the net. He would nearly added a second goal just a minute later but his shot on a set piece was saved by the diving Hesston goal keeper.
 
The Panthers would continue to keep the pressure on the Hesston goalkeeper the remainder of the match but they would not get another ball in the back of the net.
 
The Panthers even their record at 1-1-0 with the win and 1-0-0 in Region 6 action. Their next match will be Wednesday, September 3 when they host Eastern Oklahoma State College at 7pm.
