Men's Soccer 2013 Campaign Comes to an End

Nelson Landaverde scored the lone goal for the Panthers
Box Score The men's soccer team traveled to Great Bend, KS to take on #20 Barton County Community College in the Region 6 playoffs. The Panthers lost the game 2-1 and with that defeat ended their 2013 fall regular season.

The game was played in 50 mph wind gusts which affected the game quite a bit. Barton played with the wind first and got 2 goals in the 1st half. "We handed Barton 2 goals which easily could've been avoided. That was the frustrating part of this game," stated Coach Harrison.

The 2nd half Neosho got the wind and Nelson Landaverde scored and made it 2-1. The Panthers had a lot of chances after that, but couldn't score again.

"This was a tough draw for us in the playoffs, but we had several chances to win this game. After a couple days we can look back and see that we had a successful season. Right now the guys are taking this loss hard, but they will be fine in a few days and we can look into the offseason picture and make these guys better," stated Coach Harrison.

The Panthers regular season record ended at 11-6-1. The leading scorer was Nelson Landaverde with 18 goals on the season and David Bustos was the 2nd leading scorer with 5 goals.
