The Neosho County Panthers picked up there first Jayhawk Conference win of the season as they knocked off the Labette Cardinals in 4 sets. After dropping the first set 22-25, the Panthers rebounded to take the next three (25-18, 25-15, and 25-15).
The Panthers bounced back following the loss in the first set with great intensity as they even the match at one set a piece. They played great defense in the second set as they came up with 23 digs as a team led by
Katie Jensen's 10.
The win in set two signaled a change in momentum that the Panthers would never relinquish as they cruised in the next two sets winning both 25-15.
Yuleika Jimenez led the charge in the third and fourth sets as she had seven kills in the third only to top that in the fourth with 8. Jimenez led the way on the night for the Panthers with 22 kills.
After being injured to start the season, sophomore
Haley Miller returned to the lineup. Millers return gives a boost to the lineup on the heels of
Shelby Ebarb's knee injury. Miller led the team with five kills in the first set and finished the night second on the team with 12.
