Softball Gets The Split Against Brown Mackie College

On Saturday, the Lady Panther softball team continued their weekend play against Brown Mackie College. Saturday looked to be a repeat of Friday for the Lady Panthers splitting with Brown Mackie. The bats were not awake for the first game against Brown Mackie and that kept the Lady Panthers from scoring any runs. Brown Mackie would score two runs in the bottom of the third off of a Hit by Pitch and a Homerun off of Kyllie Sill. Brown Mackie would score one more in the fifth inning to go up 3-0 and that would be game one.

Game two Kiley Pedigo led off with a double to centerfield and was moved over on Kaleena Castor's sacrifice bunt. Mackensie Sanders then got up and hit a single to right field and scored Pedigo for the first run of the game and only run that inning. The Panthers would come up in the third inning with bats on fire and score 5 runs, putting them up on Brown Mackie 6-0. But Brown Mackie wasn't letting up just yet. In the fourth inning, they would start chipping away at runs and get two in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Panthers had an answer for those runs as well. Neosho scored three runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth to stay on top 10-2. However, Brown Mackie scored one run in the sixth to evade the 8 run, run rule and would make the score 10-3 and they were not letting up. Brown Mackie scored two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to keep their hopes alive. Kyllie Sill got the save for the second game after being re-entered during the fifth inning, getting a ground out to short stop to end the game in the seventh. Final score was 10-5.

Neosho has two more conference games on Tuesday, April the 3rd against Kansas City Kansas Community College at KCK. The games are scheduled for 2&4. The Lady Panthers are back at home this weekend against Hesston and Hutchinson on April 6th and 7th.
