Day 1 of the Broken Arrow Tournament was a day full of games. The 9 AM got cancelled due to a team having to drop out so the schedule got changed around for all teams to still get their allotted amount of games. First game of the day started at 1 PM against NEO out of Miami, OK. The Lady Panthers jumped out on top in the first inning, scoring one run in each of the first three innings. NEO, however, came back in the fourth inning to get on top. Neosho would score 1 more run in the 5
th and wouldn't score again in the game. NEO scored again in the 6
th inning to go up and win the game 7 to 4.
Game 2 of the day was scheduled for 3 PM against Western Oklahoma. Neosho only had 3 hits on the game, not being able to string anything together to score any runs. Western jumped out on top in the first inning and never let up. Western scored 8 runs quick to end the game early in a 5
th inning run rule.
Last game of the day was scheduled for 5 PM against Des Moines Area Community College out of Iowa. DMACC lead off with a single to left center and their 4 hole hitting a triple also to left center. Neosho got a slow start to the game, not being able to register their first hit and first run until the 3
rd inning. In the 4
th, DMACC would score three runs to go ahead of Neosho by 2 and then score 4 more in the 6
th to go up 8-2. The Panthers weren't giving up just yet. In the 6
th inning, Neosho scored 3 more runs to get within 3 runs. In the top of the 7
th inning, Mary Ann Greer and her defense had 3 up, 3 down to still give themselves a chance. In the bottom of the inning however, Neosho's offense got shut down to end the game 8-5.
Day 2 of the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Lady Panthers have a couple of days off until they are back in action again for a couple of road conference games. They head to Dodge City and Pratt, Kansas on Friday and Saturday of this week
