The Neosho County women's soccer team has made a habit of not allowing goals. They have allowed more than one goal in only four of their games this season while posting an impressive seven shutouts so far this season. The 3-0 shutout of visiting Coffeyville Community College was a unique one however.
With sophomore goal keeper
Haylee Merrill still sidelined with a concussion, the Panthers turned to freshman
Yonnie Manning in goal. Manning would stop all three shots on goal she faced on her way to the shutout.
Enyi Rosa got the Panthers on the board early when she scored at the 6:09 mark. The goal took some pressure off Manning who settled in and played a great game in her first career start.
Courtney Fielden, who scored her first career goal earlier in the week, would add two more to her total with goals at the 20:22 and 60:38 marks.
The Panthers are now 7-5-1 overall and 6-5 in conference play. They will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Concordia, Kansas to take on the Cloud County Thunderbirds. Kickoff is set for 2:00pm.
