The Neosho County Community College volleyball team continues to make its mark on the national stage, climbing to No. 12 in the NJCAA Division II volleyball rankings while proving it can compete with some of the nation's best.
The Panthers faced one of their toughest challenges of the season against No. 4 Johnson County Community College this Wednesday, battling throughout all three sets before ultimately falling 3-0.
Despite the final result, Neosho County showed its competitiveness throughout the match, particularly in a second set that went down to the wire.
Johnson County opened the match with a 25-18 victory in the first set, but Neosho County responded with a determined effort in the second. The Panthers pushed the fourth-ranked Cavaliers to the limit before Johnson County narrowly secured the set, 27-25.
Neosho County continued to fight in the third set, but Johnson County closed out the match with a 25-21 victory.
