PARSONS, Kan. — The Neosho County men's basketball team opened Region play in strong fashion on Wednesday night (Jan. 14), earning an 86–74 road victory over Labette County in Parsons, Kansas.
Neosho County showcased a balanced offensive attack and steady rebounding throughout the contest.
Cooper Weeks led the Panthers with a double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Jayce Cooper followed with an efficient all-around performance, contributing 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Raziel Taylor played a key role in orchestrating the offense, recording 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists, while
Champ Powaukee added 14 points and 6 rebounds to round out a strong team effort.
The win marks a positive start to Region play for Neosho County as they continue to build momentum heading into their next matchup.
The Panthers return home for their next contest on Saturday, January 17th, hosting Fort Scott at 3:00 p.m. in Panther Gymnasium. Fans are encouraged to come out and support Neosho County as Region action continues.
