#5 Neosho County Rallies Past Pratt CC

Panthers stay unbeaten ahead of top-10 clash with Johnson County

Chanute, KS - The #5-ranked Neosho County Community College men's soccer team continued their impressive start to the season with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory on the road against Pratt CC on Saturday.

Despite a sluggish start, Neosho found their rhythm after falling behind early. Pratt capitalized on a slow opening from the Panthers to take a 1-0 lead, putting the hosts in front and forcing Neosho to chase the game.

The equalizer came before halftime, sparked by persistence in the final third. A powerful header from Lucas Comitre rattled the crossbar, and midfielder Bailey Mapletoft reacted quickest, slotting home the rebound to bring the Panthers level. The score remained 1-1 heading into the break.

In the second half, Neosho turned up the pressure, and their efforts were rewarded in the 62nd minute. Forward Callum Niven calmly converted from the penalty spot to give the Panthers the lead and notch his sixth goal in as many games—continuing his red-hot start to the season.

Just minutes later, the Panthers extended their advantage. Keelan Coleman delivered an inch-perfect cross into the box, and Keane Hazeldine made no mistake, heading the ball past the Pratt keeper to make it 3-1 and seal all three points for Neosho.

With the win, Neosho improves their record and momentum ahead of a massive NJCAA Division II top-10 showdown. The Panthers will host #9 Johnson County CC on Wednesday evening in what will be their fifth top-20 ranked opponent in just their first seven matches—a true test of the squad's credentials and depth.

Kickoff is set for Wednesday night under the lights in Chanute, where the Panthers will look to extend their unbeaten run and continue their push toward national prominence.
