Kansas City, KS- The Panthers split the last two games of the KCK series, winning game 1 in extra innings, 7-6 and losing game 2, 5-2. In game 1, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 2-run home run off the bat of
Maverick Williamson. Unfortunately, KCK was able to tie the contest to send the game to extra innings. In the top of the 9th inning, the Panthers took the lead on an RBI from
Jaron Brown.
Trey Sommer came out of the bullpen throwing 2 1/3 innings of shut down pitching allowing just 1 hit to earn his 2nd win of the season. In game 2, the Panthers fell behind but thanks to a home run from
Cutter Colvert and a sacrifice fly from
Larsen Koester, the game was tied at 2 a piece. KCK was able to tack on 3 more runs and unfortunately the Panthers were unable to get anymore runs across.
