Chanute, KS – After a slow start saw the Panthers trail 2-0, #5 Neosho County showed their resilience and quality to storm back and claim a 5-2 victory over Southeast CC on Wednesday evening.
Malique Roach sparked the comeback in the 28th minute with a clever header from a Chris Armitage free kick. Just five minutes later, Callum Niven leveled the score at 2-2, finishing well after an assist from Roach.
The Panthers carried their momentum into the second half. Luke Butcher put Neosho ahead in the 60th minute, converting from a Zak El Hannach corner. Paul Eder then sealed the win with two quickfire goals in the 64th and 70th minutes — assisted by Butcher and Armitage respectively.
With the victory, Neosho County improves to 11-0-3 on the season, remaining unbeaten. The Panthers will close out KJCCC play on Saturday at 3:30 PM, hosting KCKCC in Chanute.
