Chanute, KS - The Panthers opened up their season hosting the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College on February 9th. Game one didn't go in favor of the Panthers. The Blue Dragons started the game off hot and had a big 2nd inning scoring 6 runs. However, the Panthers would answer back with a few runs of their own after back to back homeruns from Addyson Easter and Braxton Stainbrook in the bottom of the sixth. The Panthers couldn't push anymore across the plate and would fall to the Blue Dragons 13-3 in game one. 

Game two went to the Blue Dragons as well. The Blue Dragons pushed two runs across in the first inning, but the Panthers answered back in the bottom of the first with a two-run homerun from Addyson Easter after a 6 pitch at bat. The Blue Dragons took the lead 5-2, but the Panthers weren't done yet when Braxton Stainbrook would hit a solo homerun to center and Annsleigh Morris would follow it up with a homerun herself, making the score 5-4 going into the 7th inning. The Panthers would end up surrendering 4 more runs and fall to the Blue Dragons 9-4.
