Chanute, KS - The Neosho County Community College men's basketball team opened their home season with a 142-65 win over Southwestern College on Monday night.
The Panthers led 76-33 at halftime and outscored the Jinx 66-32 in the second half. Sophomore guard Joel Judy led the Panther's in scoring with 28 points. Other Panthers scoring in double figures were freshman
Adyn Prophete with 19 points, freshman
Champ Powaukee with 16 points, redshirt freshman
Fari Joseph with 15 points, redshirt sophomore
Aaron Doria with 13 points, Sophomore Jordan Buhrle with 12 points, and freshman
Liam Huntington with 11 points.
Adyn Prophete led the Panthers on the glass with 8 rebounds.
Malachi Wesley added 7 rebounds, and
Aaron Doria and Joel Judy both added 6 rebounds.
The Panther's set a new school record for assists in the game with 40. Leading the way was Justin Van Rooijen with 8 assists, and Champ Pewaukee with 7 assists.
Neosho County will resume play with a home game on Tuesday, November 12
th vs. Kansas Wesleyan.
