Chanute, KS - Neosho County had arguably their most complete game of the season on Wednesday night as they went up against rival, Labette Community College. The Panthers took the lead from the first minute and never looked back, getting up by 11 at half and on their way to an 18 point victory at home.
NCCC was balanced across the board as 5 players scored in double figures, highlighted by the standout performance of
Michael Odingo. The 6'1" sophomore guard from Perth, Australia usually plays the role of 6
th man, but got the start on Wednesday and made the most of the opportunity. Odingo finished with 22 points on 8/12 shooting, 4/6 on 3s, and chipped in 6 assists and 4 rebounds. His impact went beyond the stat sheet, however, as he hit big shot after big shot, including a 4 point play at the halftime buzzer to recapture the momentum for the Panthers as they went into the break.
Other Panthers that had big impacts on the game were
Ezrah Vaigafa (15 points, 7/8 fgs, 6 assists, 4 rebounds),
Shaun Holmes (12 points, 3/5 fgs, 5/5 fts),
Alexander Norris (15 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds), and
Peter Obeng, who once again was the backbone of the defense and finished with a game high 13 rebounds and 2 blocks.
