Overland Park, KS - After playing their best game of the season in their home finale against Labette on Wednesday, Neosho County knew they had a tough task in front of them. Johnson County came into the game as the #1 seed and on a 5 game winning streak, including a 42 point victory against Neosho last week. While this game played out very differently, the result was the same: a Johnson County victory.
NCCC kept it close throughout the game and led 23-21 after 10 minutes of play, but once again it was turnovers that hurt the Panthers as JCCC was able to score 25 points off of those turnovers in the first half on their way to a 14 point halftime lead.
Neosho battled back in the 2
nd half, in large part to the play of sophomore guard
Alexander Norris, who scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the 2
nd, shooting an efficient 10-15 from the field for the game. Sophomore forward
Jaaron Harriott helped with the comeback, as he finished the game with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals on 5-5 shooting.
The Panthers won the 2
nd half 47-41, but ultimately it wasn't enough as they fell 84-92. The Panthers will look to build on their strong finish to the season as they look to reload for next year.
