Chanute, KS - The Neosho County Community College Softball team split their opening day games against a tough Northern Oklahoma College Enid team. The game featured warmer tempertures with a strong breeze.
Game 1: vs. NOC Enid
Neosho stole the lead late and defeated NOC Enid 4-2 on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Neosho hitting in the bottom of the fifth where
Braxton Stainbrook doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Lauren Fuller earned the victory in the pitcher's circle, allowing 11 hits and two runs over six-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Lainey Howard went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Neosho in hits
Game 2: vs. NOC Enid
The game was tied at five with NOC hitting in the top of the eighth. Neosho stayed in the game until the end when NOC Enid pulled away with the 8-6 victory. Despite the loss, Neosho collected 6 hits throughout the game.
