Chanute, KS - The Neosho men's soccer team finished the regular season with an 8-4-4 record, 6-2 in the KJCCC leading them to their second conference title in two years.
Neosho wrapped up their KJCCC conference play with a 5-1 win over Hesston.
Dylan Roberts opened the scoring in the 20
th minute to get the panthers off to a great start. Roberts then netted his second of the game with a smart finish with his head into the far corner.
Charlie Wells then netted yet another header on the season with an assist from
Warren Sung to put the score 3-0. The panthers scored their 4
th when
Jake Baldwin found the back of the net to put the score to 4-0 at half time.
The dominance carried on in the second half and against the run of play Hesston scored a good goal before
Warren Sung netted to put the score to 5-1.
This result led the Panthers to win the conference again!
Neosho also played Crowder College, Saturday the 21
st in a non-conference match up to finish their regular season. The Panthers won 2-0 with a goal from
Casey Christou and
Asaph Silveira in the first half.
Your Neosho County Panthers head into the conference tournament in excellent form being 7-1-1 in their last 9 games. The Panthers will hit the road to play Johnson County on Thursday in the Semi-Final of the conference tournament. Neosho and Johnson split the regular season series with JCCC winning one game and NCCC winning one game.
