Overland Park, KS - Neosho Men's Soccer faced the #20 team in the nation, Johnson County. Neosho went 1-0 down early on in the game. It came from a lazy foul near the edge of the box, Johnson then played a short free kick where Neosho was caught day dreaming and ball watching, Johnson made initial contact with the ball and it was redirected into the back of the net. Neosho went down 2-0 shortly after trying to play out from the back when the team was not set which resulted in kicking the ball out of play for a corner. The ball came in the box and should've been dealt with but again Neosho fell to another set piece and it was 2-0.

In the second half Neosho had a lot of possession hitting the post and the bar and even having a goal disallowed. Johnson added a third when they got in behind and won a penalty kick after the defender was caught on the wrong side of the attacker. Matteo Hoyos added a late consolation but it was not enough and the Panthers fell. Neosho will face its third top 20 ranked team in a row when they host #3 ranked Cowley County on Saturday September 24th, 2022, the match sets up to be another tough fixture for the Panthers.
