Panthers Take Two from Coffeyville in KJCCC Play

The Panthers played host to the Red Ravens of Coffeyville Community College this afternoon at Hudson Field, for some KJCCC action. Neosho County came away with two wins on the day; as they won game one by a score of 7-4 and game two 9-8. The two wins improved the Panthers overall record to 8-5 on the year and 3-3 in the conference.

Game 1:
The Panthers sent, University of Houston commit, Taylor Parrett to the hill to start game one. The right-hander tossed 6.0 innings, giving up 4 runs (3 earned), 4 hits, and struck out 7. This performance was good enough to give Parrett the win in this ballgame. The Panther bats came alive after being a bit stagnant the past couple of games. Panther hitters compiled 7 runs on 11 hits. Jordon Helm was a big contributor in this one, as he went 3-3 with two doubles. Daegan Brady also notched two hits in the win, including his double in the bottom of the 6th inning that plated two Panthers. Nathan Hungate pitched a clean 7th inning to earn himself his first save of the year and help seal the Panthers 7-4 victory.
Game 2:
Jack Ebright toed the rubber for the Panthers in game two of the doubleheader. He went 8 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits. Ebright earned himself his 3rd win of the season with his performance. Offensively, the Panthers showed up yet again. Neosho County scored 9 runs and had 12 hits in the game. Daegan Brady, Drew Miller, Andrew Brautman, and Luke Burk all notched multiple hits in this game. Although the Panthers would take a 9-4 lead into the 9th inning, it took three Panther pitchers to find the last three outs. Jacob Beckmann, Nathan Hungate, and Colton Nelson all threw in the last frame. Nelson would eventually earn his first career save as a Panther, to preserve the Panthers 9-8 win.
