Week number one for the Panthers ended pretty well. The Panthers played some great baseball and got off to a hot start with a 5-1 record. Neosho County's week got even better, as they got word that RHP
Jack Ebright was given Conference Pitcher of the Week honors by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC). Ebright a 6'1 (COVID) freshman, that hails from Wichita, KS, threw an absolute gem to help the Panthers take down the #14 NE Nebraska Community College Hawks.
Ebright took the hill in game two of the doubleheader on Saturday, February, 27th. Ebright made his first career start as a Panther, and he decided to make it a good one. The right hander tossed a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over the Hawks of NE Nebraska. Ebright tossed seven innings, scattered five hits, struck out eight, and had zero walks to pick up the win for the orange and black.
Ebright on his outing, "Assistant Coach
Mike Gilner called a very good game. I was confident in what he was calling and felt that I could execute any pitch that was called. The game plan was to keep the ball down to their hitters and I felt like I was able to get down the mound and execute that game plan. I had all three of my pitches working the whole game which helped me get through their lineup the third and fourth time around. I also have to give a lot of credit to our position players. Attacking hitters becomes a lot easier knowing that the eight guys behind you are locked in and making plays".
The Panthers will be back in action when they play host to the Crowder College Roughriders on March 9th, at Hudson Field. Ebright will not be in action against Crowder, as he will be preparing for his conference start against the Red Devils of Allen County Community College, on March 11th, at Hudson Field.
